I have always been drawn to the threshold moments in life. Those transitions that occur, whether subtle or profound, as we shift from one way of being to another. My work is devoted to supporting girls, women, and families through these metamorphoses and understanding the structures that hold them.
From a young age, I experienced what it means to be supported through health challenges by family and community. That foundation shaped how I understand care. The environments surrounding us deeply influence how we experience our bodies, our healing, and our transitions. It is one of the reasons I care so deeply about ensuring girls grow up with the kind of village that allows them to feel supported and at home in their bodies.
That early foundation alongside my awe and reverence of the female body and spirit eventually led me to birth work.
Over the past decade, I have nurtured families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum across Canada and Mexico. My learning has unfolded in many places: apprenticing with traditional midwives in remote Mexican communities, practicing birth advocacy in Canadian hospitals, studying the politics and policies that shape midwifery in university lecture halls, and learning through the lived experiences of the families who have entrusted me with their care.
My approach blends research-based knowledge with traditional wisdom and embodied experience. Together, these perspectives inform how I support my community in navigating transitions with knowledge and trust in their bodies.
